What made me create this :
I, in my very boyhood, came in contact of chess and since then got hooked to it. I must admit that I’m no renowned chess player nor a coach of any level, not even attached to any chess association; but playing and culture of this game had always been my passion till I create my own game SHATAKSH. After some decades of regular play & study of chess seriously & dedicatedly, I began to feel that because of continuous culture & research, chess has practically left no stone unturned in Openings and Endings. It’s only the middle game where you can make some variations which steer the game. Moreover, there are at least two rules of chess which are very unreasonable and illogical in such a highest level brain-game like Chess. Yes, both the rules appear really very illogical as well as rather silly to me.
One is the rule of Stalemate and another is the dull Black &White affair.
How??
Well, lemme explain it.
Stalemate ruling: You know, when a player is completely cornered and finds no move in reply to his opponent’s move without being at Check, the situation is called Stalemate declaring the game as drawn. How funny!!
Just think; you’ve made your opponent cornered and immobile but both of you are weighed equal! What an irony!
In my game, I’ve tried to make this justified in the rule of Haltening.
Another thing is the dull Black & White concept. In ancient days; when coloring was really a great problem, both the board & the men were painted with black & white colors only. This is not only tiring to our eyes; the demerit of this affair is something more. After some hours of play, your tired eyes occasionally ‘miss’ a black chess-man on black block or a white one on same color which leads you to a silly mistake and a silly defeat too. This new game offers you the scope of selecting colors of the board and also of your Shataksh-men. Details of it have been described in concerned ruling.
To play this, a new draught board has been designed by me with 10X10=100 blocks and a pair of new shataksh-men has also been introduced each side governed by new rules.
This colorful game, no doubt, allays yours optical strain indeed but your brain shall have a great storm when you play it. Here, you will enjoy another freedom of selection of your men for a particular block. That’s why the Shataksh is more enchanting, more brain-storming.
